There is a lot of interest in Dog Day Architecture™, so we thought we would answer a few to help you understand our wonderful furniture better.  Please remember that the answers to some questions may not address your specific needs. As with everything we sell, we always recommend that you consider your own dog and his/her likes or dislikes, his/her tolerances and individual needs before buying.

How do I know the correct size of Doggie Den™ for my dog?

To know if your dog will be comfortable in the Doggie Den™ think about the size of your dog and then check the interior space of the Doggie Den™.  Will they be able to move around comfortable? Will they be able to turn around inside? Is it tall enough for them to stand?

The sizes are as follows:
Small Doggie Den™ : Approximate interior dimension of: 14 ½ W X 21 ½ D X 17 ½ H
Medium Doggie Den™ : Approximate interior dimension of: 18 ½ W X 29D X 19 ½ H
Large Doggie Den™ : Approximate interior dimension of: 35 ½ L X 29W X 20 ½ H

How do I know the correct size of Crate Couture™ for my dog?

The Crate Couture™ will be the right size if it fits over your existing crate.  We designed them to fit the following crate sizes:

Small Crate Couture™ – Will fit a crate that is sized no more than: 23L X 13W X 16H
Medium Crate Couture™ – Will fit a crate that is sized no more than: 30L X 21W X 24H
Large Crate Couture™ – Will fit a crate that is sized no more than: 36L X 24W X 27H

Does Dog Day Architecture™ furniture come with metal crates?

No, our furniture does not come with crates.  The Doggie Den™ does not need a crate, but the Crate Couture™ does need a metal crate. These are available in most pet supply stores. What sizes to Crate Couture™ fit?

The Crate Couture™ come in 3 sizes and they accommodate the following crates:
Small Crate Couture™ – Will fit a crate that is sized no more than:  23L X 13W X 16H
Medium Crate Couture™ – Will fit a crate that is sized no more than:  30L X 21W X 24H
Large Crate Couture™ – Will fit a crate that is sized no more than:  36L X 24W X 27H

What happens if the Doggie Den™ gets wet?

The Doggie Den™ is finished in a water-based dye-stain and this will help repel minor water accidents. However, the Doggie Den is solid wood and if it is saturated or if any water is left to stand and not cleaned up quickly, the Doggie Den™ will become damaged.

My puppy is still not house trained, will he be OK in a Doggie Den™?

We would not recommend the Doggie Den™ until your puppy is house trained. A Crate Couture™ with an existing crate and a plastic tray would probably work better until then!

Can I put anything in the Doggie Den™ to ensure water wont accidentally damage the Den?

Yes. In fact to further assist you we have designed all Doggie Den's™ to fit a plastic pans. If you have any concerns about your dog wetting, we recommend their use. The Dens accommodate the following size trays:
Small Doggie Den™: 21 ¼ L X 12 ½ W
Medium Doggie Den™: 28 ¾ L X 18 ¼ W
Large Doggie Den™: 35 ¼ L X 23 ½ W

Do the plastic pans or trays come with the Crate Couture™s or Doggie Den's™?

No, plastic pans or trays do not come with the Crate Covers or Doggie Den's™.

My dog loves her crate- but I hate it, what can I do?

Some dogs love their crates, which is why we designed the Crate Couture™. Your dog gets to keep her crate but you get to make it disappear!

I love the Crate Couture™ but does the fabric make the interior hot?

No. All the fabric is made of a cotton-poly blend and is breathable.  Also, two sides of the Crate Couture™ fabric can be rolled up, so if your dog will be in there are a long time, just roll up the sides!

How do I take care of the Crate Couture™ fabric?

All the fabric is made of a cotton-poly blend so if any dirt or water gets on the fabric, simply dry clean it, Velcro and all. Then reapply the fabric with the Velcro to Velcro on the inside of the Crate Couture™.  If water gets on the fabric dry clean it immediately.

Do the cushions come with the Crate Couture™s or Doggie Den's™?

No, cushions do not come with the Crate Couture™s or Doggie Den's™.

If the Doggie Den™ or Crate Couture™ is mailed, how is it put together?

Your shipment will arrive with all wood parts, fabric, screws, hardware and instructions. The Crate Couture™ is easily put together by inserting the 4 legs and tightening the screws we provide you.  The fabric has the Velcro applied and is ready to be affixed by simply pressing the Velcro on the fabric to the Velcro on the inside of the Crate Couture™.

The Doggie Den™ is put together in just a few steps and with a few screws, again that we provide you. It is a bit more involved than the Crate Couture™ and we recommend two people, just for ease.

What happens if my furniture arrives damaged?

Please call or email us immediately!  Also, please do not throw out the piece or the box and the packaging.  All furniture is inspected prior to shipping so we know it is in top condition when it leaves our shop.  If there is freight damage we will deal with the shipper, but in the meantime we will send you a new piece of furniture!

What if I receive my furniture and it is damaged?

We are happy to offer exchanges on all our furniture if there is a defect in the furniture. Since each piece is custom made to your order we cannot provide refunds.

Is the finish on the furniture safe for animals?

The finish is a non-toxic, water-based dye-stain.  If you have any questions about the exact ingredients, please contact us at info@dogdayarchitecure .com and we will be happy to provide you the details.  We strongly recommend you talk with you veterinarian if you have any concerns.

Is the wood on the furniture safe for animals?

Our furniture is made of birch wood which is very common and not known to cause harm to animals.

My Dog still chews wood- are these products this Ok for him?

Our products are durable and comfortable but they are not indestructible. If your dog chews the wood, like all wood, it will splinter and ruin. A dog that chews will damage the furniture and may cause themselves damage from wood splinters.

How long does it take to receive my furniture once I place the order?

It is approximately 4-6 weeks from the time you place your order. All pieces are made to you specifications.

How does the furniture ship?

Our furniture is shipped Fed Ex Home Delivery.
